CorporateSurvey.com and acclaimed author Clifton Taulbert collaborate to create RAI Online Assessment.
|
|
|
Tulsa, Okla. (Nov. 17, 2003) - Clifton Taulbert, the Pulitzer nominated author of the book, Eight Habits of the Heart, and president of the Building Community Institute, based in Tulsa, is expanding his reach into the corporate world. Taulbert has partnered with Dr. Chris Wright of CorporateSurvey.com, a local management consulting firm that specializes in online research. Taulbert and Wright formed the partnership and together their companies developed a new business climate assessment tool.
The purpose of this survey is to assist businesses in establishing a climate baseline, allowing for a more focused approach to leadership and diversity training, said Taulbert. Thus, maximizing their employees potential and ultimately increasing their bottom line.
Taulbert asserts that all employees have barriers, real or perceived, that keep them from becoming fully engaged.
As long as these barriers exist, employees cannot have fully engaged minds which are essential for a company to really reach its potential, said Wright. Our R.A.I. assessment will help build and develop these fully engaged minds.
Wright said this is a proactive, rather than a reactive, approach and that this new program of assessment and learning educates employers in building an environment that welcomes and values its diversity moving compliance to opportunity.
Taulbert says that successful work environment all demonstrate the presence of three primary components: Respect, Affirmation and Inclusion, or R.A.I. Taulbert states, "Without the presence of R.A.I., there is a great likelihood of diminished productivity and fulfillment."
"This survey can be administered company-wide and is designed to measure the presence of R.A.I.",said Wright. "We ask employees questions directly related to their personal experiences, observations and feelings of respect, affirmation and inclusion within their workplace."
Once the employees complete the desktop survey, several reports are generated and analyzed, said Wright. Then the findings are presented to the executive officers of the company.
"This baseline of employee feedback is critical to help executives have first-hand knowledge of how their employees view their workplace," said Wright. "This also allows the executives to understand what they need to do to improve their organization's work environment."
"Here we have the opportunity to really shed some light on what is keeping employees from feeling a sense of belonging and being fully engaged," said Taulbert. "The leaders of the company must then be committed to taking advantage of both the challenges and the opportunities."
To assist the executive officers in facilitating change, Taulbert offers interactive half-day and full-day workshops. Doug Decker of the Building Community Institute coordinates the administration of the survey and its resulting executive reports, as well as arranging for the learning workshops, which are then delivered by Taulbert or one of the Institute's certified staff members.
"The workshops are successful because we engage the employees to be open and honest with forward thinking," said Decker.
Taulbert said his Eight Habits of the Heart are the central piece of the workshop because they drive the building community process, essential for a productive and successful 21st century workplace.
"The way to dismantle workplace barriers is to build a community branded by R.A.I.," said Taulbert. "That is what the Eight Habits of the Heart are all about."
Some of the Companies that have been through the R.A.I. workshops and R.A.I assessment include: Lockheed Martin, Capital One Dallas, Memorial Health Care Systems and Kansas Gas Services, a division of ONEOK.
